I’m Still Not Over the Fact That I Published My First eBook

Even now, I still have moments where I sit in quiet awe, heart full and eyes a little misty, just thinking about it—I actually published my first eBook. It doesn’t feel real yet. Every time I open it or see someone reading it, I feel a wave of gratitude wash over me. Not just gratitude for the book itself, but for the journey that led me here.
It all began one night around 3 AM. I remember waking up suddenly, not from noise or restlessness, but from what I can only describe as a gentle nudge in my spirit. It wasn’t a loud voice or a dramatic vision, just a soft stirring deep within that wouldn’t let me go back to sleep. I sensed the Lord saying, “Write what I’ve placed in your heart.”
At first, I tried to brush it off—telling myself I’d get to it later, maybe in the morning. But the pull grew stronger. So I got up, grabbed my journal, and started writing. What poured out that night became the foundation of the book. It was raw, honest, and full of conviction. Looking back, I know it wasn’t just my idea—it was the Spirit’s invitation to partner with Him in something greater than myself.
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” — Romans 8:14 (NIV)
That verse has taken on a whole new meaning for me. Learning to surrender to the Spirit’s leading was not always easy. My mind had its own plans, my insecurities had their doubts, and my perfectionism wanted everything figured out before I began. But the Holy Spirit kept reminding me that obedience is better than control.
When we surrender to the Spirit, we don’t always see the full picture—but we take one step at a time, trusting that God knows exactly where He’s leading us.
There were nights when I cried out of exhaustion, and mornings when I woke up renewed with purpose. There were chapters that flowed effortlessly, and others that I rewrote several times. But through it all, I felt God’s presence guiding me—reminding me that this wasn’t about me getting recognition, but about His truth reaching hearts and transforming lives.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
This verse became my anchor during the process. Whenever I felt like I wasn’t enough, it reminded me that the One who began this work in me would see it through. Writing this eBook wasn’t just about nutrition and wellness—it was about obedience, faith, and love for the Body of Christ. It was about helping believers understand that caring for our physical health is also a spiritual act of worship and stewardship.
I remember moments of doubt, asking God, “Why me? There are so many others more qualified.” But He reminded me that He doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called. And with every page, I learned to depend less on my own strength and more on His Spirit.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts. — Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)
That’s the beauty of walking with the Holy Spirit. When we surrender fully, He takes our small “yes” and breathes life into it. What starts as a seed of obedience can grow into something that blesses many.
Now that the book is out there, I still catch myself whispering, “Lord, You really did it.” It’s humbling and awe-inspiring to see how God can take one midnight nudge and turn it into a ministry tool that uplifts and empowers others.
This journey has taught me that obedience opens doors that effort alone never could. It’s a reminder that when God plants a dream in your heart, it’s not for you to figure out how—it’s for you to trust who.
So if you ever feel that quiet nudge in your spirit—whether it’s to write, to start something, or to simply reach out to someone—don’t ignore it. Surrender to it. Let the Holy Spirit lead you, even if it’s 3 AM and you don’t have it all figured out. Because on the other side of that obedience, you might just find yourself standing in awe, saying what I’m still saying today:
“I can’t believe I did it—but God did.”
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” — Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)
A Prayer of Surrender
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gentle ways You speak to our hearts, even in the quiet hours of the night. Thank You for trusting us with dreams, ideas, and messages that reflect Your heart. Teach us to surrender to the leading of Your Spirit—to move when You say move, to write when You whisper “write,” and to trust You with the outcome.
Lord, help us to see that obedience, even in small steps, can lead to great impact. May everything we do bring You glory and strengthen Your people.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
